On the banks of the Styx, countless souls have arrived, suddenly swept to the other world by a merciless plague—bubonic, variolic, deadly, and cowardly. The underworld is instantly clogged, and Minos, the relentless judge of souls, is forced to make superhuman efforts to assess everyone's sins. Proceedings slow down, the spirits protest, revolt, hurl insults, and even utter a few ugly blasphemies.
