This event will not be held on February 24th and 25th.
In San Polo, close to Frari’s basilica, Casino Zane, built between 1695 and 1697, was for a century the place of leisure of Zane’s family. The architect Antonio Gaspari, from Bottega Longhena, was in charged of building the casino as he wanted and, when he died, his assistant Domenico Rossi, continued the construction, helped by famous artists. The interiors, richly decorated, are attributed to the famous plasterer Abbondio Stazio and sculptor Andrea Burstolon’s bottega. Andrea Burstolon engraved the wooden balustrade which faces the ball hall. The frescoes had been recently attributed to Sebastiano Ricci.
