Marco Polo e il suo tempo: viaggio sulle tracce di un esploratore veneziano
Venice Carnival 2024 is dedicated to Marco Polo and Ca’ Macana Original celebrates him with a special event on the opening day: “Marco Polo e il suo tempo: viaggio sulle tracce di un esploratore veneziano“. The event is presented by Dr. Giovanni Della Mora, Venetian historian and author of many essays on history and historiography. This will be followed by a visit to Ca’ Macana focusing on carnival traditions and masks.
Giovanni Della Mora was born and lives in Mestre. He is 72 years old. He holds degrees in literature, history, medieval and contemporary history, and also in the sciences of antiquity. He is the author of several essays on Romance philology, the history of medicine, and Roman history, and has given several lectures at Ca’ Foscari to present his studies. He is also interested in recent and past Venetian history, publishing a book on the story of Maria Tarnowska.
For the occasion, the venue will be Dorsoduro 3170.
