Saturday 12th february “VENEZIA WONDER TIME” begins: a programme of diffused resident performances of music, circus-theatre, and clowning will animate the historic centre, the Venetian mainland, and the islands of the lagoon with their overwhelming extraordinariness, according to the theme of Venice Carnival 2022 “Remember the future”
2022 edition of the Carnival of Venice will have a rich programme of activities both in the historic centre, the venetian mainland and the islands of the lagoon. These days, colorful Wonder Points have been installed all around the city, were mimes, clowns, actors, musicians and artists will perform live, for adults and children, in a journey through art, comedy, fairytales and music.
“VENEZIA WONDER TIME” will be running during the weekends of the Carnival, on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13, and Saturday 19 and Sunday February 20, and on weekdays, from Thursday January 24 to Tuesday 1 March, from 11am to 1pm and from 3pm to 7pm.
In Venice the performances of Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th of february will be in Campo Santa Margherita, Campo San Giacomo dall’Orio, Esedra via Garibaldi, Campo San Geremia, Campo dei Gesuiti, Campo Santa Maria Formosa, Campo San Cassiano, e Sunday 13th february also in Lido Island in Piazzetta Lepanto.
In Mestre, Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th, performances will be in Via Palazzo, in Piazza Ferretto, Piazzale Donatori di Sangue, Largo Divisione Julia, Via Mestrina; in Marghera in Piazza Mercato.
“VENICE WONDER TIME!” programm aims to let people rediscover the wonder and the emotion of the Carnival in “campi” and streets, thanks to the vivid fantasy of the artists that renow the future through their street artistic vision.
Performances are at free access, but according to local and national safety guidelines and according to the ongoing pandemic situation, public must be in possession of Super Green Pass (EU digital covid certificate), keep social distancing and wear masks. Staff will be there to assure the respect of said guidelines.
The news of this edition is that this Carnival will be LIVE! After the success of last year digital edition, during the weekends of the Carnival, on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13, and Saturday 19 and Sunday February 20, and on weekdays, from Thursday January 24 to Tuesday 1st March, at 4pm, the MAster of Cerimony Prince Maurice (Maurizio Agosti) and the Angel of 2020 Carnival Linda Pani, will present social live streams, givig voice to young reporters on the road to discover the best of the street performances on stage arond the different locations of the city’s Wonder Time programme and the whole programme of Venice Carnival 2022.
