The itinerant shows of the “Venice Carnival Street Show” are about to begin!

On Saturday, February 4 and Sunday, February 5 the “Venice Carnival Street Show” is set to begin. Shows displaying creative energy, fantastic worlds and joy will make viewers dream once again, through the signs and with lightness and invention.

After the last edition’s success, the Venice Carnival “Take Your Time For The Originals Sings” comes with a widespread programme, involving Venice, Mestre, the islands of the lagoon and the municipality.

During the last few days, ten colourful theatres have been installed throughout the city of Venice: here, mimes, clowns, actors, musicians, and magicians will entertain a large audience of children and adults, who will be transported into the world of street art, comedy, fantastic stories, and games. A mix of joy, music, choreography and energy will flow and engage the most important element of each performance: the audience of any age.

The “Venice Carnival Street Show” will start with a preview during the weekends of Saturday, February 4 and Sunday, February 5 and then gets into the thick of things on Saturday, February 11 and Sunday, February 12, and on the days of the “Settimana grassa” – from Thursday, February 16 to Tuesday, February 21from 11 AM to 1 PM and from 3.30 PM to 7 PM.

On the afternoon of Saturday 4 from 3.30 PM, Circo Patuf will take the stage of Piazza Ferretto with various artists and clowns, to put on laugh-out-loud shows in a mix of humour juggling, fire games and acrobatics, where the public will be encouraged to actively participate. Also in the Piazza, the Magician Abacuc will enchant children with his giant balloons and card games. To wring a smile from the streets of Mestre there will also be Baracca dei Buffoni with its enchantment makers, and the Funkasin Street Band, the ensemble made up of 11 wind instruments and 3 percussion instruments that reinterprets different genres with original arrangements, mixing the traditional sounds of brass and drums with the pulsating rhythm of Rock, Funk, Jazz and Disco hits.

In Venice from 11.00 AM on Saturday 4 in Campo Santa Margherita there will be Alice and the Magician, together with the madcap charmer Saeed; in Campo San Giacomo the public will find comic juggling shows with Diego Draghi and Fausto Barile; at Esedra Castello the notes of the marching band Grande Cantagiro Barattoli will resound, as well as an improvisation show with ventriloquist Nicola Pesaresi; in Campo San Geremia the audience will be enchanted by the romantic and irresistible latin lover Damiano Massaccesi and by the balancing acts of an improbable clown from the Teatro Viaggiante; in Campo dei Gesuiti the public will be enchanted by the musical performance of Arteare, and by the crazy circus stilt-walkers of Circateatro; jugglers and puppets of Compagnia La Fabiola will be the protagonists of Campo Santa Maria Formosa together with Kalù, while in Campo San Cassiano Stramagante will lead the public in a succession of magic acts revisited in a modern key, and the notes of the friendly singing group Cikale Vocal Trio will resound throughout the Campo.
