L’Arte del Mascarer a Venezia: dal tempo di Casanova ai giorni nostri
Freedom, mystery, excesses and transgressions are founding elements that characterize and unite the three themes at the center of this conference: the Carnevale di Venezia, the life of Casanova – lived at the limit of the social rules of his time -, and the Mask.
The life of the multifaceted Venetian seducer, full of intrigues, scandals and daring escapes, perfectly embodies the free and bold spirit of our Carnival, and the Mask, a (re)generating, egalitarian element, and engine of anonymity and emancipation, turns out to be fundamental for the adventures and excesses of the carnival period.
For the occasion, the historian prof. Danilo Reato and Maestro Mascarer Gualtiero Dall’Osto will meet at the Auditorium Cesare De Michelis at the M9 Museum in Mestre, thus giving everyone the opportunity to see the Carnival from “behind the scenes” and explore these themes from both a historical and practical perspective, and through the projection of images and short films.
