Il Carnevale della Cultura (Carnival of Culture)

«Il tempo di Casanova» is not just street art and outdoor spaces. Art and theater return to celebrate Carnival with a program of shows in the cultural spaces of the city, in the lagoon and on the mainland, as part of the Carnival of Culture. The theme of the 2025 edition is therefore developed in numerous declinations, from music to theater, from readings to performances, to shows for children. The Centro Culturale Candiani, the Teatrino Groggia, the Casa di The Human Safety Net at the Procuratie Vecchie, the Teatro a l’Avogaria, and many others are involved….

The city theaters – from the Toniolo Theater to the Goldoni Theater, from the Momo Theater to the Groggia Theater to the Avogaria Theater and the Albanese Park Theater – present a calendar of shows during the Carnival period, just as the La Fenice Theater offers a musical program designed for the occasion. In addition, the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia plans extraordinary openings of the museums in its circuit to make it as easy as possible for Carnival visitors to enjoy them.

From 22 February to 2 March 2025, the Carnevale Internazionale dei Ragazzi will also be back, the project of the La Biennale di Venezia that since 2010 has been aimed at children, schools with their teachers and families, encouraging creativity and participation in young people and maintaining a constant direct, practical and active dialogue with participants. Creative and artistic workshops will be held in Venice at the Biennale headquarters in Ca’ Giustinian.
