Cineconcert at Palazzetto Bru Zane: One week + Neighbors
Carnival, a time for masks and laughter: the perfect moment to rediscover one of the greatest “masks” of silent film comedy, the “Great Stone Face” of Buster Keaton. In this first appointment with the Palazzetto Bru Zane Cine-concerts, One Week and Neighbors—both released in 1920—will be screened in a unique pairing with live performances of French Romantic piano music.
In both films, Keaton offers his ironic take on love; in the first, a newlywed couple attempts to build a prefabricated house with disastrous results; the second tells the tragicomic misadventures of two young lovers separated by a fence and hostile families.
