Simon Boccanegra
Giuseppe Verdi’s Simon Boccanegra will be performed at Teatro La Fenice in a brand-new production by director Luca Micheletti, marking his first time taking on this masterpiece. The creative team includes sets by Leila Fteita, costumes by Anna Biagiotti, and lighting design by Giuseppe Di Iorio. Musical direction is entrusted to Renato Palumbo, who will lead the Teatro La Fenice Orchestra and Chorus and an exceptional cast: Simone Piazzola and Luca Salsi alternating in the title role; Francesco Meli as Gabriele Adorno; Alex Esposito in his debut as Fiesco; Francesca Dotto in her career debut as Amelia; and Alberto Comes as Pietro. The Chorus Master is Alfonso Caiani.
Eight performances are scheduled at Teatro La Fenice as part of the 2025-2026 Opera and Ballet Season: January 23, 25, 27, 29, and February 1, 10, 12, 14, 2026. On Saturday, February 14, a cocktail reception and DJ set will follow the performance in the Sale Apollinee of Teatro La Fenice.
