Deda is an avid explorer and collects pieces of the world in her matryoshka boxes. Small treasures to learn and name the world. She collects them and preserves them with meticulous care to play with whenever she wants, to play with them alone.
The new arrival’s name is Nana and she knows nothing of the outside world. She knows what she can see and touch. She doesn’t yet have the words to describe what she’s slowly discovering. Her world is here, it’s now, and it’s as small as a nutshell, as a blooming rose.
On a star-filled night, Nana and Deda, frightened yet drawn to each other, share storms and horses, swings and boats, underwater spaces and dancing music boxes. But neither is willing to share their mother’s love: she’s mine! No, she’s mine!
On a starry, silent night, Nana and Deda meet, clash, stumble over the fear of growing up, get scared, discover and recognize each other in the courage to move forward.
