“With the title “The Time of Casanova”, we want to embrace a very wide arc of time, because the 18th century marked our history. Casanova is the embodiment of fun, love and madness, and he was the protagonist of such an incredible century, the golden age of entertainment and art. My wish is that this edition of Carnevale di Venezia takes us all back to that era of prosperity and gives us the opportunity to live it as protagonists, just as Giacomo Casanova did. An elusive and ever-changing character, he always remained tied to Venice, even when he travelled all over Europe, and his story has been handed down to us with incredible accuracy and truthfulness. I invite everyone to join the Carnevale di Venezia, not to see him, but to experience and understand him through his own eyes.”
