Arsenale Water Show
Arsenale Water Show 2025
GIACOMO
A love story
An emotional show that will bring to life the adventures of Giacomo Casanova. An emotional journey through his life, capable of entertaining, moving, teasing and surprising the audience through the languages of dance, music and narration, between the classical and the modern, the philological and the dreamlike, Venetian and international. Not a historical tale, but a succession of evocative paintings and images that encapsulate the essence of Casanova as told by Henriette, the only woman he ever loved and never had (they say…).
Double show with the adventures of Casanova!
Friday 21st February 2025, Saturday 22nd February 2025, Sunday 23rd February 2025 and every day from Thursday 27th February to Tuesday 4th March 2025
At 6:45 pm and 9:00 pm
Arsenale di Venezia
The natural stage of the Darsena grande is enriched with a night scenography of dancing fountains, lights and videos created by the combination of art and technology between Antica Proietteria, Viorica Water Show and Moonlight Light Show. Not just digital art, the show will also bring on stage fourteen performers who with their personalities will be able to make the emotional strings of the audience vibrate. The French company Ilotopie returns with their surprising stage machinery designed for the show, inflaming the Venetian waters with energy and creativity. The show is enriched with the intense and refined live interpretation of the actress Silvia Nanni and the extraordinary powerful lyrical voices of the soprano Silvia Celadin and the baritone Alberto Zanetti, who will give life to the different personalities of the protagonists accompanied on the water by the boats of the historical Venetian tradition of the Cavana Tintoretto by Gloria Rogliani.
The text of the show, taken from “Sette Canzoni per Casanova” by Antonella Barina, Venetian poet, playwright and writer, is interpreted not only by the narrative voice, but also by the strong and elegant gesture of body language, with the six dancers and acrobats of the companies Liberi Di Physical Theatre and Elementz Art, who sublimate the bodies between music, gesture and word.
