Venice Carnival has always attracted people from all over the world who want to experience the joyful atmosphere of a place where wearing historical costumes is never inappropriate!

During the Carnival period, parties are organised in historical dress, and also in fancy dress, to recall the richness of Venice in past centuries and the desire of Venetians of those times to enjoy themselves in the most characteristic and also most attractive places of a beautiful city.

The Association ‘Friends of the Carnival of Venice’ organises parties in historical dress from the 1700s and 1800s to offer those taking part the chance to experience the atmosphere of those times. People who participate in the festivities organised by the Association come not only from Italy but also from the USA, Canada and many European states. In addition, for visitors who, not having historical costumes, would like to take part in the aforementioned festivities, the Association is in a position to propose a number of friendly ateliers to find a costume to rent at acceptable prices.

Outside the Carnival period, the Association organises costume events in historical palaces, guided tours to places of special cultural interest, and costume and dance courses.
